hey, i'm rusty.
I'm a technically-minded teenager with a soft spot for computers, Linux, homelabs, weird side projects, and the kind of books that ruin your sleep schedule. This is my little corner of the web - built by hand, hosted because I wanted to, and updated whenever I feel like it.
Most of my life runs off a heavily customized Hyprland setup and a homelab built out of one repurposed Dell Latitude. If you clicked in from a webring: welcome, take your shoes off, the guestbook is right there.
what am i doing?
- right nowtrying to get FocusGuard onto the AUR, fighting a locked GitHub account the whole way. See the full /now page.
- buildinga self-hosted homelab dashboard and a few Linux tools nobody asked for. → projects
- desktopHyprland, heavily customized, still not finished (it's never finished). → computers
latest from the blog
- 2026-09-10 hello, world (again)new! - why I rebuilt my website like it's 2006 and I regret nothing.
- whenever the next thing happens more posts →
go somewhere
This site rewards poking around. Try the sidebar, or start with one of these:
- /computers - Linux, Hyprland, my homelab, and things I've broken on purpose to learn how they work.
- /projects - small, practical, occasionally ridiculous software I've built.
- /links - a hand-picked directory of other people's websites, the old-fashioned way.
- /guestbook - sign it. say hi. it's nice here.
webring & badges
This site rings through a few real webrings - Hotline, Null, and *nixRing - instead of a made-up one. My own 88×31 buttons live over on /buttons - here's the ones I've collected from other sites instead, the old-fashioned way, by actually visiting them:
